Motorcyclist dies after being struck by swerving car in the Mauricie

A person in his 70s died Thursday afternoon after the motorbike he was driving was struck by a automobile.

The incident occurred on northbound Freeway 55 at Saint-Boniface within the Mauricie area.

The Sûreté du Québec mentioned the collision occurred when a automobile travelling within the freeway’s left-hand lane abruptly discovered itself shortly closing in on a lot slower visitors.

Police mentioned the motive force was unable to brake in time and misplaced management of the car, which swerved into the right-hand lane and struck the motorbike travelling there.

The motorcyclist was declared lifeless in hospital, whereas the motive force suffered minor accidents. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
