ROME (Reuters) – An envelope addressed to Pope Francis containing three pistol bullets has been seized in a mail sorting facility near the northern Italian metropolis of Milan, police stated on Monday.
Postal employees referred to as the police after intercepting the envelope in a single day within the small city of Peschiera Borromeo.
Police instructed Reuters the envelope, despatched from France, was addressed to “The Pope, Vatican Metropolis, St Peter’s Sq.”.
A Vatican spokesperson had no speedy remark.
