Two cameramen have been injured after they fell from a platform whereas filming at a horse racing observe.
One of many males was taken to hospital whereas the opposite was handled on the scene by paramedics on the Hamilton Park Racecourse in South Lanarkshire.
It’s thought the lads fell from a cherry-picker onto a RaceTech van beneath. All races have been deserted for the day after the accident.
Clerk of the course, Harriet Graham, confirmed two staff of RaceTech have been damage whereas working the cameras on the positioning.
She mentioned: ‘About half an hour earlier than the primary race an incident occurred involving RaceTech operators and a hoist.
‘Our emergency groups reacted instantly after which we would have liked to name the hearth service and ambulances, so we had three fireplace engines on website and the police.
‘It took them a very long time to evaluate the state of affairs and extract them and take them off to hospital. Throughout this time the timeline grew to become increasingly more prolonged.
‘The choice was we’d look forward to CID to reach to see if we may proceed racing, however they indicated they wouldn’t be making a choice within the quick time period.
‘So, we held a stewards’ inquiry and the choice was made to name off racing.
‘While that could be a massive determination, we felt we had no timeline for after we may begin racing and the primary factor is all our ideas are with the 2 guys who’ve gone off to hospital for additional evaluation. Let’s hope they’re OK.’
She added: ‘Within the larger image, racing is secondary on this state of affairs. A nasty accident has occurred, two persons are injured.

A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service mentioned two ambulances and two fast response autos have been dispatched to the scene at 1.38pm.

Hamilton Park Racecourse confirmed the incident on Twitter, saying: ‘Sadly, racing at present has been deserted on account of an accident involving digicam crew on the course.
‘Ticket holders will probably be contacted as regards to switch of ticket or refund. Sending our ideas and best needs to all concerned.’
The primary race was scheduled for two.15pm, with that point initially revised to 2.45pm earlier than an extra delay was introduced as emergency providers attended the incident.
