‘Dangerously close to a catastrophe,’ warns UK climate chief – Channel 4 News

The president of the Cop26 summit Alok Sharma has warned that the world is “dangerously shut” to operating out of time to sort out local weather change – saying failure to restrict temperature rises to 1.5 Celsius can be “catastrophic”.

However critics have accused Mr Sharma of hypocrisy, saying he’s did not condemn Authorities plans for extra fossil gas extraction, together with a brand new oil discipline off the coast of Shetland and a coal mine in Cumbria.
